Yes it is true. And while it seems like discrimination, having bad credit is NOT a protected class, so it isn’t.

Definitely! If you apply for anything relating to money (working in a bank, investment bank, etc.), they will absolutely check your credit score and if it’s not good, you might not be hired. They would be concerned about someone with financial troubles possibly stealing.

Yes. Some companies do it, others don’t. If your good at what you do, they won’t care. You can’t improve your score right now, but you can get your credit report and make some calls. Don’t bother with anything over 7 years old. Don’t let a TV commercial scare you into giving them money.

Yes. It can be used to determine your decision making capability, your level of responsibility and if you might be a security risk (if you handle money or finance)…The only way to improve your score is to pay off bad debts…it will take some time, unfortunately.
